About the event
Set in the beautiful 'Sage Yoga Studio', this community gathering will begin with a breif introductory talk about Sufism. This will be followed by readings of Sufi poetry and discussions about what they may invoke in us. You will enjoy live music from professional Santur player Mohammadreza Behjat. We will complete the evening with a relaxing grounding meditation where Saima will recite poem 'lose yourself' by the great Persian poet, Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī. We will provide light snacks and Turkish tea. Please feel free to bring a poem, quote or piece of writing that inspires you and you would like to share.
Pls note, this is a respectful, inclusive, non judgmental space where you are welcome regardless of your spiritual beliefs.
Read what our guest Sue said about our last Sufi event:
‘Saima created an intimate and safe space in a local art gallery to introduce a small group of us to the principles of Sufi teaching. This was done through short talks, poetry, music and ending with a meditation. It was all very inspiring and accessible, with people able to share their experiences. All in all a very uplifting evening. Ooo and we were served some delicious masala tea and baklava!’
